Administrators

Welcome to Central Elementary School!Rebecca Littmann

Central School serves a population of approximately 500 children (kindergarten through fourth grade) who reside in the eastern portion of Wilmette.  Students are friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic about learning.  Most children enter kindergarten with two years of pre-school and demonstrate high levels of “readiness” to learn.

The parents of our students expect quality education for their children.  They value the school's commitment to meeting the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of children.  Central parents monitor their children's progress and communicate openly with school personnel.  Embracing the school’s mission to “prepare students for a rapidly changing and challenging future by developing intelligence that is both academic and character-centered,” students and parents join with teachers and administrators to form strong home-school partnerships.  Our PTA has an active Executive Committee that provides leadership to a Board of over 40 committees or positions including Art Awareness, Book Fair, Civics and Safety, and Environmental Awareness.

Central staff members are life-long learners who participate in professional development and collaborative planning.  Many staff members have advanced degrees and certificates with many years of teaching experience.  Our staff is trained in differentiated instruction that is enriched by technology and the arts.   Within the building, we offer a team of related arts teachers (PE, library, music, art, technology, Spanish).  We also have learning behavior specialists, speech pathologists, a school psychologist, an occupational therapist, a social worker, a differentiation support teacher, reading teachers, and English language teachers.  These “specialists” ensure that we are meeting the needs of all the children.

Here at Central, we welcome you as a partner in your child’s education.  Your contributions to your child’s education at home and at school are sincerely valued and greatly appreciated.

Warmest Regards Always,

Becky

I am thrilled to join the D39 and Central Fox family as Assistant Principal. Prior to joining the team, I spent 7 years working in the Indianapolis area: 5 years as a teacher and 2 years as a school administrator. Most recently, I served as the Assistant Principal at Shenandoah Elementary School. Before moving into administration, I taught grades K-4 with most of my time in 4th Grade.

I am originally from Fishers, IN. I earned my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish from Indiana University. I also have a Masters in Education Administration from Ball State University.

I have a passion for social emotional learning and DIEB. I strive everyday to provide opportunities for students to see themselves in their learning, especially in the literature we expose them to. I crave collaboration and problem-solving with students and stakeholders. My door is always open!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy traveling and reading. You can also catch me running on the Lake Shore path or walking to try a new restaurant!

I look forward to connecting with all of our Central students and their families.
