Central Announces Meghan Otto As Next Assistant Principal
Posted on 06/29/2023

I am writing to share some important administrative news with you. Earlier this week, Assistant Principal Katherine Michau resigned her position to take a job closer to her home and family. I am grateful to have worked with Ms. Michau and wish her the best in her new role.

Following up on that, I also have some exciting news to share with you, as I am thrilled to announce Meghan Otto as the next Assistant Principal at Central Elementary! I was fortunate to be a part of the interview process earlier this spring for a different Assistant Principal opening within the District and got to meet Ms. Otto, who separated herself as an outstanding candidate. She will be a tremendous asset to our Central learning community and I am excited to have her assume this important administrative position.

Ms. Otto comes to Central after a two-year stint as the Assistant Principal of Shenandoah Elementary School in Middletown, Ind., a town located northeast of Indianapolis. At Shenandoah, she played a key role in their support system for students with learning and behavioral struggles and collaborated with her teachers to redesign and implement a new Response to Intervention plan for reading and math. Ms. Otto was also heavily involved in researching and recommending a new math curriculum for the school and both developed and delivered appropriate professional development for school staff.

Ms. Otto began her teaching career in 2016, spending two years teaching kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and third grade in Fishers, Ind. before a three-year stint teaching fourth grade in the same district, where she also undertook two principal internships. Those experiences helped her prepare for the transition into elementary school administration at Shenandoah.

Ms. Otto has asked to share the following message with Central families:

Thank you for welcoming me into your Central Family! I am truly excited to hit the ground running in this role and most importantly, to meet each and every one of you. The 2023-2024 school year is going to be a great year!”

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Otto to Central! I know that her experience, leadership, and commitment to supporting the needs of students, staff and families will make her a wonderful fit in our learning community. She will begin her new position at Central on August 1st.

Sincerely,
Becky Littmann, Principal
