Welcome to Central Elementary School!Rebecca Littmann

Central School serves a population of approximately 500 children (kindergarten through fourth grade) who reside in the eastern portion of Wilmette.  Students are friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic about learning.  Most children enter kindergarten with two years of pre-school and demonstrate high levels of “readiness” to learn.

The parents of our students expect quality education for their children.  They value the school's commitment to meeting the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of children.  Central parents monitor their children's progress and communicate openly with school personnel.  Embracing the school’s mission to “prepare students for a rapidly changing and challenging future by developing intelligence that is both academic and character-centered,” students and parents join with teachers and administrators to form strong home-school partnerships.  Our PTA has an active Executive Committee that provides leadership to a Board of over 40 committees or positions including Art Awareness, Book Fair, Civics and Safety, and Environmental Awareness.

Central staff members are life-long learners who participate in professional development and collaborative planning.  Many staff members have advanced degrees and certificates with many years of teaching experience.  Our staff is trained in differentiated instruction that is enriched by technology and the arts.   Within the building, we offer a team of related arts teachers (PE, library, music, art, technology, Spanish).  We also have learning behavior specialists, speech pathologists, a school psychologist, an occupational therapist, a social worker, a differentiation support teacher, reading teachers, and English language teachers.  These “specialists” ensure that we are meeting the needs of all the children.

Here at Central, we welcome you as a partner in your child’s education.  Your contributions to your child’s education at home and at school are sincerely valued and greatly appreciated.

Warmest Regards Always,

Rebecca Littmann, Principal

Dear Central Families,Anthony Haduch

I am excited to be returning to Central School, and this time as the new Assistant Principal!  In my former role as a third grade teacher at Central, I learned how dedicated our students, staff, and families are to the success of every child.  As I move into this new role, I bring the same sense of passion and excitement to connect children to help them accomplish their goals.

I first received my teaching license from Western Michigan University in elementary education with endorsements in early childhood, English as a second language, and special education. I began my teaching career in Phoenix, Arizona and gained a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the Arizona State University. As a life-long learner, I recently attained certification in gifted education. It is with this rich background, that I work to bring heightened levels of curiosity and love of learning for children.

I look forward to meeting and working with each of you and the Central community. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or celebrations you may have. Thank you for your trust, partnership, and opportunity to work with your family.
